Annual Fire Pit Day 2018

Annual Fire Pit Day with Mealy Mountain Gallery and Big Land Pottery, August 4. Drop by the Gallery to pick out the pot you want to decorate and fire. Gather at the Kayak Shack at 9:30 am on the 4th bring your junk of wood to add to the fire. We hope to have the pots in the fire and the flame going by 11 am .
The fire will be fed until 2 pm and then left to smoke until 7 pm when we will be at the pit to remove the tin coverings and take the pots from the ashes.
This year there is a prize for the best smoke fire piece that shows some of the decorations and lots of smoke pattern, Peer Judging. There will be food and beverages in the morning and evening as usual.
The new pot this year is the yarn bowls. There are 6 bowls just waiting for the decorations and smoke, 4 are already bargained for. Check Mealy Mountain Gallery facebook site for pictures of the pots ready for you to purchase. The prices this year range from $17 to $35.
